About SmartBlock
SmartBlock is a screen time app for iPhone that blocks distracting apps and asks you to solve a short puzzle before you can open them again. It is made by one person, not a company with a growth team.

I'm Adam Park. SmartBlock is a one-person app: I design it, build it, ship it and answer the support email.
I built it because every screen time app I tried did one of two things. Either it locked me out until I got annoyed enough to delete it, or it was so easy to skip that it did nothing. Neither changed how often I picked up my phone.
A puzzle felt like the honest middle ground. It is a real pause, long enough to ask whether I actually need the app, and it is not wasted time, because I get a bit of mental maths or wordplay out of it. That is the whole product.
SmartBlock has been on the App Store since 5 August 2025. The latest version, 2.1, shipped on 8 October 2026. If something is broken or you want a puzzle added, email me.
